Closing the loop in pipe recyclingCKPR continues the recycling of the waste PE80 and PE100 pipes generated by the Radius Systems SUPER Scheme in conjunction with our recycling partner Moulding Solutions of Doncaster. The SUPER Scheme handles all plastic waste generated during installation of Radius Systems products by its customers, these materials are returned to Doncaster for processing. The pipe waste, including the challenging metal/polymer couplings are size reduced and processed to a compounded pellet for re use within non pressurised products manufactured by Radius Systems.It is expected that with the commissioning in November 2009 of the new Zerma GSH 500/600 granulation system at the CKPR site in Melrose, the SUPER Scheme materials arising in Scotland and the border areas will be processed at Melrose. This will further reduce the carbon footprint of the recycling operation and increase the environmental benefits of the SUPER Scheme. Return to News Listings Page... |
